Job Overview

Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Software Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team of technologists building and maintaining KYC (Know-Your-Customer) applications for the bank. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through the entire software development lifecycle. This role involves designing and implementing test plans, developing automated test scripts, API testing, developing AI based testing solutions, identifying and documenting defects, and working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution of issues. The Software Quality Engineer will play a critical role in upholding our commitment to delivering high-quality, robust, and user-friendly software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test strategies for new features and existing functionalities. Use AI LLM models for test case creation.
  • Test Execution: Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, performance, and system integration testing (SIT).
  • API testing: Use tools to perform API testing.
  • Automation Development: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks using industry-standard tools and programming languages.
  • Defect Management: Identify, document, track, and prioritize software defects and work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution and retesting.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, provide feedback, and ensure quality throughout the SDLC.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Reporting: Generate clear and concise test reports, summaries, and metrics to communicate test progress and product quality to stakeholders.

Risk Assessment: Participate in risk assessment and mitigation planning for new features and releases. Documentation: Maintain clear and thorough documentation for test plans, test cases, and test results.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Banking or KYC knowledge.

• 8+ years of experience in software quality assurance or software testing.

• Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.

• Proficiency in designing and writing comprehensive test plans and test cases.

Good hands-on experience with tool-based automated testing, including developing and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, JUnit, NUnit, Pytest).

• Solid programming skills in at least one language (e.g., Python, Java).

• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

• Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

• Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) based test case generation.

• Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

• Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI).

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

• ISTQB certification or similar quality assurance certifications.
